Support HOSA - Autism Speaks

We are thrilled that Autism Speaks has once again been chosen as the HOSA National Service Project.

Like HOSA, Autism Speaks is fueled by the passion of our volunteers. We are dedicated to impacting the lives of those affected by autism through research, advocacy, family services, and awareness efforts. With your help, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by autism.

Individual and community events are organized across the country by people like you. These events support the mission of HOSA and Autism Speaks: to fund research, increase awareness, and provide outreach and education.
You and your peers have organized bowl-a-thons, car washes, golf tournaments and concerts, office fundraisers, sold items to raise funds in the community and participate in triathlons, runs, walks and more in support of HOSA and Autism Speaks. Autism Speaks provides you with the tools to promote and support your efforts online.

Join the effort today.

How to Participate

Walk Now for Autism: In 2008-2009, these community based walk-a-thons will be in over 80 cities. HOSA chapters are encouraged to form teams, raise money, and walk in the event. In addition, HOSA students can volunteer to be a part of the planning of the event or on walk day.

Autism Speaks will provide walk materials, pledge forms, and on-line fundraising ability for all activities.
To register a walk team for your local walk, please visit www.walknowforautism.org. Please include "HOSA" somewhere in your team name to ensure that your team receives HOSA credit. For assistance with walk registration, please contact your local walk staff or hosa@autismspeaks.org.

Local Fundraising & Awareness Events: Host a school and community-wide fundraising event during the year. These events can support your walk efforts or stand on their own. You can register your event here and receive HOSA credit for your fundraiser.

When registering your event, please name your team by State, School name, and event so your teammates can easily find your team and join For example: NJ - Princeton High School - danceathon.

Once your event is registered, all HOSA members at your school can join your team and start their own personal fundraising pages! For assistance with registering local fundraising & awareness events, please contact your local Autism Speaks representative or email hosa@autismspeaks.org.

How to Fundraise

  • There are many way to fundraise and have fun while doing it. Check out Fundraising A-Z
  • To raise awareness the Autism Speaks pin has been created. The pin typically sells for $10 on our web-site, but can offer it to HOSA groups for $2 per pin to be used as a fundraiser. For more information, click here
  • One of the most fun ways to involve an entire school is to have a puzzle piece campaign. Sell pieces for $1-$5, customize them with the buyers name and then display them with pride in your school.
  • General brochure and posters available which can be customized for your school event.
