About Us

The Mission of Autism Speaks

The Autism Speaks mission is to find the causes, effective treatments and a cure for autism by accelerating the pace of scientific research, while raising awareness about autism and providing education and outreach opportunities.

About Give Now

Give Now offers supporters of Autism Speaks the opportunity to raise funds for their Special Events through the internet. Participants have the chance to create their own event, team and individual web pages as a means to involve people from all over the country in support of their events. Proceeds from Give Now support Autism Speaks' mission to find the causes, effective treatments, prevention and a cure for autism.

Since 2006, autism supporters from around the country have raised well over $300,000 using Give Now to create their own autism events. With your help, we can increase this number dramatically in 2009 and beyond.

About Autism Speaks

Autism Speaks is dedicated to increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders, to funding research into the causes, prevention and treatments for autism, and to advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. It was founded in February 2005 by Suzanne and Bob Wright, the grandparents of a child with autism. Bob Wright is Senior Advisor at Lee Equity Partners and served as vice chairman, General Electric, and chief executive officer of NBC for more than twenty years.
