ABOUT GIVE NOW

Mission of Autism Speaks

The Autism Speaks mission is to find the causes, effective treatments and a cure for autism by accelerating the pace of scientific research, while raising awareness about autism and providing education and outreach opportunities.

About GiveNow

GiveNow offers supporters of Autism Speaks the opportunity to raise funds for their Special Events through the internet. Participants have the chance to create their own event, team and individual web pages as a means to involve people from all over the country in support of their events. Proceeds from GiveNow support Autism Speaks' mission to find the causes, effective treatments, prevention and a cure for autism.

Over the course of 2006, Special Events organized by constituents around the country raised over $400,000. With your help, we can increase this number dramatically in 2007 and beyond.

Autism Speaks

Autism Speaks is dedicated to increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders, to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and cure for autism, and to advocating for the needs of affected families. It was founded in February 2005 by Suzanne and Bob Wright, the grandparents of a child with autism. Bob Wright is Vice Chairman, General Electric, and served as chief executive officer of NBC for more than twenty years. Autism Speaks has merged with both the National Alliance for Autism Research (NAAR) and Cure Autism Now (CAN), bringing together the nation's three leading autism advocacy organizations.
